Petition
We the undersigned call on Bristol City Council to reconsider the planning permission given for the construction of light industrial units on the parcel of land adjacent to Gatton Road, the scrapyard and the junction of Saxon Rd and Warminster Rd, in St Werburghs. We would like BCC to consider a “change of use” for the site to “community green space”.
We also call on Bristol City Council to purchase, either in full or in part, this parcel of land from the landowners for the benefit of the local community and visitors to the area. We would like Bristol City Council to assist us in maintaining this land as a green space and enhancing it for wildlife and safe community use.
Background information
Your support and signature is needed as the landowner wishes to build a number of light industrial units which are higher than the nearby houses. This would deprive the residents of Saxon Road and Warminster Road of a view and also displace much wildlife including great crested newts, foxes and many other animals, birds and plantlife. There are existing empty industrial units on Gatton Road just yards from the greenspace.
