BID Clifton Village ask Bristol City Council to listen to the concerns of businesses & residents regarding the revised residents parking plans for the Village.

" Note from Bristol City Council : please note a statutory procedure (the Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) objection period for the Clifton Village Proposed Residents’ Parking Scheme) is currently in place. For the avoidance of doubt, please note that if anyone wishes to lodge a formal objection as part of the statutory process, and would like this considered formally by the Council, the only way of doing this is to write to the Council or email tro.comments@bristol.gov.uk by Friday 11 April 2014, which is when the statutory consultation period ends."

Background information

Without Bristol City Council understanding the impact on all parties and changing the plans accordingly, it will be difficult for Clifton to continue as a successful tourist/shopping destination with its current diversity of independent traders and businesses.
Our main concerns are:-
1. The 1 hr parking limit in the centre of the Village which retailers consider will be be restrictive on trade.
2. Insufficient permits for businesses in order that they can complete their work effectively.
3. Inadequate transport links to the Village, 2 bus links is not sufficient for the needs of visitors, clients and employees.
