We want the council to reconsider the vote to refuse planning permcission for the new Sainsbury store on the site of Bristol City football clubs current ground to enable them to build a new stadium and bring extra jobs and money into the area.

Background information

By allowing the planning permission it would greatly enhance the chances of Bristol City football club being able to build their new stadium and hopefully enable Bristol to be a vnue for the World Cup 2018 if England are granted the tournament bringing millions of pounds to the city.

Rejection reason

The Terms and Conditions of the e-petition system state that: 'Petitions should generally be relevant to some matter in relation to which the council has powers or duties.' On this occasion we are advised to inform that the Development and Control South and East Committee made their decision on this matter and that there are no grounds or process to reconsider it. Applicants (ie Sainsbury's) have the right of appeal if they choose to exercise it.'
