Petition

The Petitioner requests that Bristol City Council conducts, as a matter of urgency, a parking review of the residential roads around Southmead Hospital.

Background information

We welcome and support the redevelopment of Southmead Hospital which will create new jobs and bring world-class clinical facilities to north Bristol.

However the impact of this redevelopment is having a big effect on local residents.

In particular a number of residential roads surrounding the hospital suffer from illegal parking, for example across junctions and driveways. This is caused by significant 'overflow' parking from building contractors and other hospital workers.

There is a need for a review of these roads by Bristol City Council in order to see whether appropriate measures, such as box junctions, yellow lines and other measures should be put in place.
