Petition
The Petitioner asks that Bristol City Council and other public bodies arrange for some of the roads into Bristol to be converted into cycle only routes.
Background information
This change of use would make it safer for cyclists to get around Bristol. Currently there are areas with no cycle paths or cars stray into cycle paths or park vehicles in them. If the Council had a change of use for some roads the following benefits would be achieved:
1. There would be a reduction in accidents.
2. It would assist the climate.
3. Reduce GP and hospital care
4. More car users would cycle as it would be easier and quicker to travel.
5. Children would be safer and their parents would not mind them cycling on roads if there were no vehicles on certain routes.
