We, the undersigned, hereby request that Bristol City Council work with First Great Western to install bicycle carriers / bike racks on every bus on a route in or through the County of Bristol.

Background information

Bike racks installed on city buses have been very successful in other cities throughout the world. In the interest of making Bristol the UK's first 'Cycling City,' this is something which would vastly improve many daily commutes, and perhaps encourage individuals going to or from farther destinations to take their bicycles. This is a very effective form of personal transport, using the bus for the longer or more arduous part of the journey, then switching to bicycle at a stop near one's destination.
