We demand more and better lighting and more police patrols along the Bristol to Bath cycle path, especially between Whitehall Road and the Chocolate Factory.

Background information

There have been several attacks along this part of the cycle path over the last couple of weeks, with gangs of youths attacking users of the cycle path with baseball bats after dark. Poor lighting and a lack of police officers patrolling are some of the issues that have contributed to these attacks.

It has been suggested that people stay clear of the cycle path after dark, but this is not an acceptable solution.

Better lighting, more people using the path and better policing are the only solutions.
