We Residents oppose the redevelopment of the Territorial Army site on Whiteladies Rd into a WAITROSE supermarket. A Community use is required e.g. a Primary School.

Oakfield Residents Association

Background information

The Merchant Venturers are proposing to Redevelop the Artillery Grounds opposite the BBC into a 30,000sq ft WAITROSE Supermarket with 134 spaces, underground car park, to 6 stories in two towers to form 288 student flats. Another supermarket is not required on Whiteladies Road as it has 5 supermarkets (another Tesco is planned) and has a diverse mix of small shops and a Farmers Market.

The local community deserves something better on this key site in Clifton: a community use.
