Restrict traffic turning from Church Road onto Avonvale Road, Redfield, by adopting a one way system.

Background information

Avonvale Road is dangerous to cross, and dangerous to drive on, with several people and vehicles having near misses. Vehicles turning left from Church Road are invisible to pedestrians, and as the road is too narrow cars often have to swerve to avoid the traffic lining up at the lights.

The main volume of traffic is to access Church Road, rather than leave it, so it wouldnt be detrimental to local traffic flow. Much of Redfield is already controlled by one way systems, and Avonvale Road is used as a rat run for vehicles, often mistakenly, taking shortcuts. Making Avonvale Road one way could also potential reduce congestion on Church Road.

Controlling the flow of traffic will also have benefits for local businesses - providing parking for the Methodist Church and local shops.
